LET’S TEST THIS NEW MICROPHONE I BOUGHT

So, I’ve unboxed the Rode NT-USB mini microphone and plugged it into my MacBook Air. The installation was pretty easy. It comes with a one-page instruction manual that shows how to attach this microphone to a broadcast arm (for those of you with radio or podcasting dreams). It also has a port on the back for plugging in headphones, so that’s pretty cool.

Before I plugged in the microphone, I recorded 20 seconds of my voice using the MackBook Air’s on-board/voice memo app. Here’s what that sounds like.

For consistency purposes, I voiced the same text after turning on the Rode microphone. Here’s what that sounds like.

I can’t tell too much of a difference between each device to be honest. Maybe I’ll notice it when I use the Rode mic more often. Either way, it wasn’t a very expensive microphone so it’s just nice to have it around for whatever.
