Journalism has allowed me to travel to some of the most breathtaking corners of our nation, including the rolling foothills of the Appalachian Mountains to the white sands of Clearwater Beach. I’ve written about freelance artists in New York City, inappropriate teachers in Florida and small business owners in Virginia. Through my reporting, I’ve learned a little more about humanity and about what it means to be an American.
